Regulatory Affairs & Information Technology Manager

We are looking for someone with an information technology related background with at least one year’s experience to support clients with the implementation of ELAROS’ various web-based systems into clinical settings, as well as helping to develop ELAROS’ company-wide business policies and regulatory affairs relating to cybersecurity, data protection, information governance / security, and procurement. 

Practical applications of your IT skills will involve supporting Elaros’ new and existing clients with the onboarding of their clinical teams which will include delivering staff training and end-user support, understanding end-user issues to scope out new software developments, and liaising with information governance / IT teams with the implementation of our products and servers which will include demonstrating Elaros’ conformity with various health(care), data protection, and cybersecurity standards. The candidate will also support the internal team with product development, for example; bug testing, troubleshooting, writing design specifications and ensuring new updates adhere to these specs as part of testing.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management and driver of Elaros’ regulatory affairs – mapping, achieving, and maintaining various technological standards / frameworks, including NHS DS&P Toolkit, CyberEssentials(+), DCB0129, and other international standards yet to be achieved, such as ISO27001
  • Development and management of business and regulatory-related policies, ensuring these are compliant and support the growth of the company
  • Maintaining business/policy development documents / policies embedded in these policies, such as Business Continuity Plans, Data Protection Policies, and Information Security Policies, 
  • Registering and maintaining Elaros’ membership on procurement frameworks such as LPP DPS, Spark DPS, and other e-tendering frameworks
  • Liaising with Elaros’ Data Protection Officer, and other relevant partners to respond to IG related queries and progress with achieving the relevant standards and certifications, such as NHS DSPT, CyberEssentials
  • Liaising with Elaros’ Clinical Safety Officer to respond to and develop and progress policies and other necessary business-related documents (such as risk management and testing policies) for clinical safety standards and other related policies
  • Up-skilling and maintaining / training the internal team on the company’s regulatory affairs, as required by the various regulatory policies that Elaros needs to conform to
  • Managing technical standards deployment and road mapping of technology deployment as the company grows and acquires its own hardware/IT infrastructure
  • Liaising with customers / clients with the onboarding of Elaros’ products and services, specifically IT / IG departments and procurement teams 
  • Delivering (external) staff training where necessary as part of the onboarding of Elaros’ products and services, and as new features / software developments are released
  • Delivering user support, e.g. troubleshooting and staff account creation where necessary
  • Developing staff training resources, such as manuals, videos, infographics
  • Contributing to product development through bug testing, design scoping, and new feature development

Essential skills and experience

  • 2:1 classification or higher in an information technology-related degree or similar background
  • At least 1 year experience in an IT management, support, or applications engineer role
  • A strong understanding of web and internet technologies 
  • A strong understanding or familiarity with industrial standards and regulatory affairs relating to the application of information technology, relating to data protection, cybersecurity, and information governance 
  • Confidence in managing and taking ownership of company-wide policies and regulatory affairs
  • Be able to demonstrate a genuine interest, ability, and confidence in using IT systems and web-based technology
  • Confidence in delivering demonstrations and instructions on IT systems in clear, concise, and easily interpretable fashion  
  • Display very strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • A team player with excellent initiative and problem-solving skills
  • A disciplined self-starter, proactive and flexible
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Ability to both be creative and bring new ideas to the role and to be focussed in delivering ambitious business objectives

Desirable 

  • Experience or familiarity of working in the NHS
  • Experience or familiarity of developing business policies and the necessary standards IT / data / software companies (preferably health-related) need to adhere to
  • Experience or familiarity of achieving and maintaining IT, clinical safety, or data protection related standards, such as CyberEssentials(+), NHS DSPT, DCB0129, ISO 270001 etc.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Mailchimp, Adobe and/or Affinity-related programs
  • Experience creating training resources in written and visual format, such as training manuals and videos
  • The role may require occasional travel so a driving licence would be advantageous but not essential

Graduate Research & Development Associate

Whilst the focus of this new role is Research & Development, the graduate will gain experience, skills, and an appreciation of all aspects for Elaros’ activity and the innovation landscape for various systems at different stages of the product development life cycle by reporting to and shadowing the Director of R&D and other members of the team. The Graduate will have the opportunity to contribute to ideas for new and existing projects: not only to co-design bespoke solutions to real world problems, but helping to decide which problems to focus on and increase efficiency within the company.

We are looking for a candidate with a STEM background, preferably related to fields within the (bio)medical engineering space, however applicants from other backgrounds such as computer science or engineering who can demonstrate relevant experience or a passion for working in healthcare will also be considered.

Principal duties and responsibilities
  • Supporting Elaros’ immediate growth strategy to access regional, national, and international markets
  • Driving forwards Elaros’ commercialisation of its C19-YRS Long Covid platform, both nationally and internationally, which will include: 
    • Product testing, refinement, and development
    • System demonstrations, staff training and technical support
    • Engaging with clinical care and other NHS organisations to increase awareness, seek support and new commercial leads
    • Project support on various R&D projects linked to C19-YRS
  • Supporting and contributing to Elaros’ Research & Development operations to bring its advanced products closer to market, linked to Elaros’ Mi-Trial, Hydr8, CQI Toolkit, and NeuRestore products
  • Software development, oversight and input into a number of Elaros’ existing apps and emerging consultancy contracts
  • User experience design and testing of various Elaros products
  • Supporting the launch of at least two of Elaros’ existing products over the next 12 months

Essential skills and experience

  • 2:1 classification or higher in a biomedical engineering or health science related degree. Applicants from another STEM subject with experience in bioengineering / health science related projects are also welcomed.
