ELAROS welcomed Izaak Walker to the team as a Regulatory Affairs Intern. Izaak is a final-year integrated MEng Biomedical Engineering undergraduate at The University of Sheffield, with a strong interest in the MedTech sector. He has joined ELAROS on a part-time basis while completing his master’s degree.
During his placement year in industry, Izaak worked within a cross–functional team at a global orthopaedics company, contributing to the development, launch, and support of commercialised implants and instruments. His work with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team focused on achieving 510(k) clearance for a bespoke implant system, enabling access to the US market. Following this experience during his placement year, he is keen to continue developing his passion for the research, design, and development of medical devices in preparation for market launch.
Passionate about addressing unmet clinical needs, Izaak collaborated with MetalloBio for his master’s thesis, developing photocurable, antimicrobial, drug-eluting materials aimed at reducing periprosthetic infections. His research was carried out within the Biomaterials Group at the university.
As Regulatory Affairs Intern Izaak will gain further experience within the digital healthcare industry and be involved in bringing to market a variety of ELAROS products.
Welcome to the team, Izaak!
